Hi , I'm trying to use the reports "batch convertor" to convert reports xml to binary and I recive the following error :- Error (Exception: rep -0022:converstion failed! ) reports.log : Conversion failed! REP-6104: Invalid XML report definition. Any ideas? (Xml file created from "batch convertor" to convert reports binary to xml )

Dear Chaya,
The batch converter is just a front end and calls the usual Oracle report command line tools in the background. The REP-6104 you are seeing is what was reported by that Oracle supplied tool. There are some articles on the net (googled for that error) that report problems with this error message. http://www.databaseuser.club/article/5011730/Invalid+XML+report+definition it's for Oracle Reports 9i - but i guess some things persist even in later versions?! One thing i would try is to make sure your Oracle Middleware and the JDK paths are the two first mentioned in your PATH environment variable (so that way you can make sure it's not a problem with an outdated JDK version). Also worth trying to run rwconverter.exe manually to see if this is working. Regards, Stefan |
