Hi Support:

I'm running a trial version  of FormsTool trying to decide whether to buy it.

When I try to run a search I get the following error:

http://dinosaurfan.com/search_database.PNG

"Error Executing Search.... failed to connect to database API-001: Operation Failed."   I tried entering the username/password in many different ways with no luck...

Dear Matthew,

Database connection strings are optional and not required, but especially in cases where you load large modules they do speed things up a bit (less pl/sql code to invalidate). EzConnect strings for database connections should work without problems as long as you use Forms 10gR2 and later .. and as long as you run the tool from a directory that has no parentheses "()" in the path (installing the tool in C:\Program Files (x86)\ will not work due to an Oracle Database bug!). I had no problem with connecting with EzConnect on my computer. Does your database connection work inside Oracle Forms Builder?

Regards,
Stefan
